Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Trade

Today, Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-CA), a member of the Trade Subcommittee within the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement on the Biden Administration's third and latest use of the Rapid Response Labor Mechanism in response to alleged labor violations at the Panasonic Automotive Systems de México facility in Reynosa:

"I am proud that the Biden Administration is not only embracing, but enforcing a pro-worker trade agenda," said Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez. "All workers deserve the right to organize, collectively bargain, and advocate for better working conditions. The novel Rapid Response Labor Mechanism has proven to be an important, effective, and efficient tool to protect workers' rights. I am hopeful that Panasonic will remain neutral and negotiate in good faith with the newly elected independent union, SNITIS. I am grateful to President Biden, Ambassador Tai, and Secretary Walsh for their consistent and vocal advocacy for all workers."
